Monologue:   Working at a Pet Shop

I once worked in a pet shop as a salesgirl, and I met with all kinds of customers in this small place. You know, if your work requires you to meet different kinds of people, you can have a lot of interesting experiences.
One day, a lady came to the shop to buy a pet. She asked me for a bird that could sing, so our manager suggested a parrot. And he told her that the parrot could sing in foreign languages. The lady was very pleased. At home, she examined the bird carefully and found that it had a broken leg. She got very unhappy. She telephoned the manager to complain about this.
