job interviews

When people in the West look for a job, they usually follow the following procedures:
  1) Read the “Want Ads” in the newspapers and job hunting websites for suitable vacancies.
  2) Phone or write to the contact person.
  3) The contact person, either the employer himself or a representative, will advise the applicant about the job if it has not yet been taken, and grant the applicant an interview if he or she chooses to. Occasionally an interview may take place by phone, but most often the contact person will want to see the applicant or vice versa.
  4) If an interview is granted, the applicant will be asked many questions, both personal and professional, so that the employer can decide whether or not the applicant is suitable for the job. The applicant may also ask questions as he or she, too, must make sure about the suitability of the job. But many personal questions are prohibited because of anti-discrimination laws in the U.S.
