1. Rewrite the following sentences, using subjunctive mood to correct the mistake in each sentence.

1. Was this the case, the secretary could easily replace the businessman.

 
2. Thus, work conditions demand that the mid-level professional has a good grasp of the techniques of essay writing and an excellent knowledge of sentence structure.

 
3. Current needs within the business world necessitate that the student learns as much as he can about correct writing practices.

 
4. One may prefer that the study of grammar is disregarded; however, practical wisdom suggests that grammar study is taken very seriously.

 
5. It is further necessary that a student develops a clear, concise writing style.
