2. Decide whether the following statements are true (T) or false (F) according to the passage.

 1. Paul Wylie had no idea that the applause was for him when he stepped off the plane because he didn’t think it was a big deal to win a silver medal.
 2. People used to be quite disappointed with Paul Wylie because he had performed very unimpressively in sports competitions like the World Championships.
 3. Although he had experienced very hard times in his skating career he had never thought of giving up and retiring.
