Passage 10

There had been a storm during the night, and the early morning light was still unclear. I was walking along the shore, and didn’t see what lay at the end of the beach until I was nearly there.
It was almost too big to see. Nearly ten meters long, and taller than a man. A huge, blue-grey animal. A whale. It seemed to ask for help or explanation, but there was nothing I could do. So I went back to the village for help.
