Ala. hotel doesn’t want flag group

  MOBILE, Ala, April 10 (AP) — A hotel chain no longer will welcome a convention group whose members displayed the Confederate flag during a meeting last summer. Some members of the Sons of Confederate Veterans hung the flags from windows of the Adam’s Mark Hotel in Mobile, causing some black employees to refuse to show up to work. “I do think that a Confederate flag, to put it in front of a black person, is kind of like putting a red scarf in front of a bull. I think it’s something unnecessary,” Fred Kummer, president of the 21-chain, said from his office in St. Louis on Thursday.
